R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The University of Texas at El Paso celebrated the
  grand opening of its Advanced Manufacturing and Aerospace Center
  with a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 11, 2025; and
         WHEREAS, UTEP broke ground on the $80 million research and
  education facility in the fall of 2022; funded by the UT System
  Board of Regents, the facility was designed by architectural firm
  Treanor and built by Sundt Construction in collaboration with
  UTEP's Planning and Construction Department; the building features
  29 laboratories, and it houses the W. M. Keck Center for 3D
  Innovation as well as the Aerospace Center, which are both part of
  the university's College of Engineering; and
         WHEREAS, With more than 70 advanced 3D printers, the Keck
  Center boasts one of the world's most comprehensive collections of
  additive manufacturing equipment in an academic setting; the center
  is currently participating in research and development projects
  with more than 100 industry partners and 10 federal agencies,
  including the Army and Air Force Research Labs, Northrop Grumman,
  and Lockheed Martin; and
         WHEREAS, The Aerospace Center has conducted pioneering
  research in collaboration with NASA, the Department of Defense, the
  U.S. Department of Energy, and other agencies in such areas as
  propulsion, unmanned aerial vehicles, and spacecraft design; the
  center utilizes artificial intelligence, machine learning, and
  advanced materials science to accelerate discoveries for space,
  defense, and industry; and
         WHEREAS, The Advanced Manufacturing and Aerospace Center
  reflects UTEP's commitment to advancing technological innovation
  and supporting vital research, and it is sure to be a valuable
  resource for the university and for the greater community for years
  to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the opening of the Advanced
  Manufacturing and Aerospace Center at The University of Texas at
  El Paso and commend all those involved in bringing this exciting
  project to fruition; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the center as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
