R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The boys' lacrosse team from Highland Park High
  School in Dallas once again proved itself one of the finest in the
  Lone Star State by winning the 2025 Texas High School Lacrosse
  League Class AA state title; and
         WHEREAS, Following an impressive performance during the
  regular season, the Scots continued to excel in the playoffs,
  igniting their championship run by overpowering Cypress Woods High
  School 20-7 in the super regional round; they then recorded a
  dominant 11-3 win over Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas
  in the semifinals to earn a coveted berth in the title contest; and
         WHEREAS, On May 11, Highland Park battled The Episcopal
  School of Dallas for the state crown on its home field at Highlander
  Stadium; in command early, the Scots went on the offensive to take a
  5-0 advantage at intermission; exhibiting tremendous composure
  under pressure after their foe produced four unanswered goals in
  the second half, the Scots closed the game on a 3-0 run to seal the
  outcome; triumphing by the final score of 8-4, Highland Park
  celebrated the program's second lacrosse state crown over the past
  two years and its 13th all-time; the Scots finished the year with an
  outstanding 18-3 record; and
         WHEREAS, Highland Park was led by Duncan Zielke, the
  tournament Overall Most Valuable Player, who scored three goals;
  Harrison Brown also netted three scores to earn Offensive MVP
  honors, and Jackson Bond was named the Defensive MVP; the Scots also
  received valuable contributions during their campaign from the
  other members of the roster; these talented student-athletes
  benefited from the able direction of head coach Mike Pressler; and
         WHEREAS, By accomplishing the rare feat of winning a 13th
  lacrosse state championship, the Highland Park Scots have burnished
  their reputation as a powerhouse in the sport, and they are a source
  of great pride to their classmates and their many supporters in the
  community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Highland Park High School boys'
  lacrosse team on winning the 2025 THSLL Class AA state championship
  and extend to the players, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes
  for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Scots as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
