R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Molson Coors Fort Worth Brewery is celebrating |
|
|
the 50th anniversary of Miller Lite in 2025, and this occasion |
|
|
provides a welcome opportunity to reflect on the brewery's central |
|
|
role in producing the brand as well as its overall record of |
|
|
achievement; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In 1975, the Molson Coors Fort Worth Brewery became |
|
|
a part of beer history when it brewed and packaged the first Miller |
|
|
Lite pilsner; the first light beer to achieve widespread success in |
|
|
the U.S., Miller Lite was instrumental in popularizing the style |
|
|
and reshaping the American beer industry; the Miller Lite |
|
|
advertising campaign, with its famous slogan and numerous celebrity |
|
|
endorsements, has left a lasting legacy as well; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Opened in 1969, the Molson Coors Fort Worth Brewery |
|
|
is now the longest-operating brewery in the Dallas-Fort Worth area |
|
|
and one of the largest in the nation; benefiting from the dedicated |
|
|
efforts of 520 employees, the facility encompasses 155 acres and |
|
|
produces 8.2 million barrels annually for 72 different brands, |
|
|
including Miller Lite, Coors Light, and Miller High Life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Molson Coors Fort Worth Brewery has played an |
|
|
important part in its industry through the production of Miller |
|
|
Lite and other brands, and it is indeed deserving of recognition for |
|
|
its vital contributions to the economy of the Lone Star State; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the Molson Coors Fort Worth Brewery on the |
|
|
occasion of the 50th anniversary of Miller Lite and extend to all |
|
|
those associated with the brewery sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the brewery as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
