R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Kieran J. Williams has distinguished himself in his |
|
|
responsibilities as a legislative aide in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Chris Turner during the 89th Legislative Session; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Williams has handled a |
|
|
wide variety of challenging tasks, including staffing the State |
|
|
Affairs Committee, meeting with stakeholders, and providing |
|
|
assistance in the policy areas of criminal jurisprudence, public |
|
|
education, veterans' issues, and workers' rights; in addition to |
|
|
gaining valuable experience in the field of public service, he has |
|
|
learned more about the legislative process and the issues facing |
|
|
citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams is currently a student at the Southern |
|
|
University Law Center in Baton Rouge, where he serves as president |
|
|
of the Business, Entrepreneurship, and Creatives Law Association, |
|
|
as treasurer of the Christians at Law Society, and as senior editor |
|
|
of the Journal of Intellectual Property, Technology and Law; he |
|
|
holds a bachelor's and master's degree from Mississippi State |
|
|
University, and he has worked as a law clerk with the Louisiana |
|
|
Legislative Black Caucus Foundation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Kieran Williams has performed his duties as a |
|
|
legislative aide with skill and dedication, and he is indeed |
|
|
deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Kieran J. Williams for his service as a |
|
|
legislative aide in the office of State Representative Chris Turner |
|
|
and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all |
|
|
his endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Williams as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
