R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Cayden Castaneda was selected to participate in the |
|
|
Texas Tech Government and Public Service Internship Program, and |
|
|
she has ably served her fellow Texans as an aide in the office of |
|
|
Speaker Pro Tempore Joe Moody during the 89th Legislative Session; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since beginning her internship in Austin, |
|
|
Ms. Castaneda has provided vital assistance in handling a wide |
|
|
variety of challenging tasks such as meeting with stakeholders and |
|
|
keeping them and staff members informed about the status of various |
|
|
bills; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of |
|
|
public service, she has learned more about the legislative process |
|
|
and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; she has also |
|
|
served as a congressional intern in Washington, D.C.; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Castaneda received an associate's degree from |
|
|
South Texas College and expects to graduate in December 2025 with a |
|
|
bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University; there, she has been a |
|
|
student assistant for the School of Law and a member of the |
|
|
Criminology Club and was named to the dean's list; she has also |
|
|
served as a basketball coach with the Edcouch-Elsa Parks and |
|
|
Recreation Department; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Cayden Castaneda for her service as a |
|
|
legislative aide in the office of Speaker Pro Tempore Joe Moody and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her |
|
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Castaneda as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
