R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Africa Chamber of Commerce are |
|
|
visiting the State Capitol on May 22, 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Africa Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to |
|
|
building robust diplomatic and economic ties between Texas and |
|
|
Africa; in addition, it serves as a hub for members of the African |
|
|
diaspora in Texas, providing them with access to resources, |
|
|
opportunities, and networks that can help enhance entrepreneurial |
|
|
success; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the past five years, TXACC has hosted eight |
|
|
African heads of state and more than 50 ministers and ambassadors in |
|
|
Texas, and it has organized multiple business delegations from the |
|
|
state to Africa; the group has also fostered key public-private |
|
|
partnerships and policy engagement efforts; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Africa Chamber of Commerce has played an |
|
|
important role in increasing trade and investment opportunities |
|
|
between Texas and the African continent, and all those associated |
|
|
with the organization may take pride in their contributions to the |
|
|
Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize May 22, 2025, as Texas Africa Chamber |
|
|
of Commerce Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to |
|
|
the visiting delegation. |
