R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Karnies Adams has distinguished herself in her |
|
|
responsibilities as a policy analyst in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Alma Allen during the 89th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff through the Texas |
|
|
Legislative Internship Program, Ms. Adams has provided vital |
|
|
assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |
|
|
including analyzing and summarizing bills, helping staff |
|
|
committees, and meeting with stakeholders and advocacy groups; in |
|
|
addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|
|
service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|
|
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A law student at Southern University Law Center, |
|
|
Ms. Adams holds a bachelor's degree in political science from |
|
|
Xavier University and a master of public administration degree from |
|
|
Lamar University; she previously served as an intern with the Vera |
|
|
Institute of Justice and as a clerk with Karl Bernard Law; in |
|
|
addition, she has taught English language arts at school districts |
|
|
in Baton Rouge, Houston, and Dallas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Karnies Adams has performed her duties as a policy |
|
|
analyst with skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of |
|
|
special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Karnies Adams for her service as a |
|
|
policy analyst in the office of State Representative Alma Allen and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her |
|
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Adams as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
