R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and enthusiasm drew to a close |
|
on November 19, 2021, with the passing of Sara Vela of Mission at |
|
the age of 50; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Jose Guadalupe Vela and Ester Vela |
|
Botello, Sara Vela was born in McAllen on October 30, 1971, and she |
|
grew up with the companionship of two brothers, Carlos and Jose; |
|
after graduating from Mission High School in 1990, she earned a |
|
degree in interdisciplinary studies from South Texas College; she |
|
went on to enjoy a long and rewarding career working for Hidalgo |
|
County; and |
|
WHEREAS, Active in her community, Ms. Vela was engaged in |
|
local politics; above all else, she cherished time spent with her |
|
friends and family, and she was a devoted aunt to her niece, Dehra, |
|
and her nephews, Daniel and Aaron; and |
|
WHEREAS, Admired for her warmth, kindness, and generosity, |
|
Sara Vela brightened the world for all who knew her, and they will |
|
forever hold her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Sara Vela and extend |
|
sincere condolences to all who mourn her passing; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sara Vela. |
