R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Susann Kazunas was named group vice president for |
|
production engineering and executive engineering officer at Toyota |
|
Motor North America in May 2025, beginning a new chapter in her |
|
notable tenure with the company; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Kazunas began her career in the 1990s at Toyota |
|
Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, where she primarily worked in the |
|
stamping and weld shops; she went on to hold a number of leadership |
|
positions in manufacturing and production engineering, and she |
|
completed a two-year assignment in Japan before transferring to |
|
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas in San Antonio in 2019; she was |
|
appointed president of Toyota Texas in February 2024, and her many |
|
responsibilities in that position included overseeing all |
|
production and administrative functions at the plant; and |
|
WHEREAS, In her new role, Ms. Kazunas will relocate to the |
|
company's engineering headquarters in Georgetown, Kentucky, where |
|
she will lead equipment preparations and new model deployment for |
|
all of Toyota's North American manufacturing facilities; she will |
|
also continue to monitor construction of the new rear axle assembly |
|
plant at Toyota Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, During her time in San Antonio, Ms. Kazunas has |
|
served on the executive committee for greater:SATX, an organization |
|
focused on regional economic and workforce development, and she has |
|
been a member of the executive board of directors for the Greater |
|
San Antonio Chamber of Commerce; among her many honors, she was |
|
featured on the 2025 Texas 100 list of impactful leaders compiled by |
|
The Business Journals media company as well as the South Texas Power |
|
Players list published in the SanAntonio Business Journal; she was |
|
also recognized as one of the 100 Leading Women in the North |
|
American Auto Industry for 2025 by Automotive News; she holds a |
|
bachelor's degree in organizational management from Midway |
|
College; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through her vision, expertise, and commitment to |
|
excellence, Susann Kazunas has set an inspiring example of |
|
leadership during her career with Toyota, and she may indeed |
|
reflect with pride on her accomplishments as she takes on the |
|
challenges and opportunities of her new position; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Susann Kazunas on her promotion to |
|
group vice president and executive engineering officer for Toyota |
|
Motor North America and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Kazunas as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
