R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 65th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
  mutual devotion and shared experiences, and former state
  representative Bill Callegari and his wife, Ann Callegari, are
  celebrating this joyous milestone in their marriage on June 4,
  2025; and
         WHEREAS, William Anthony Callegari and the former Ann Roy met
  during their sophomore year at Cottonport High School in Louisiana;
  after a class, he gave her a book, which contained a note inviting
  her to the movies; she replied that she had to ask her grandmother,
  and fortunately, permission was granted; after graduation, she
  completed business trade school before moving to be near him in
  Baton Rouge, where he attended Louisiana State University; the
  couple became engaged during Mr. Callegari's freshman year and
  married on that special day in 1960 at St. Mary's Assumption
  Catholic Church, where both their families were parishioners; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Callegari's salary anchored the household
  until her husband completed his bachelor's degree in agricultural
  engineering; they moved from Baton Rouge to Illinois when Mr.
  Callegari accepted a job with the Caterpillar tractor company in
  Peoria, before finally settling in Texas; while employed by Shell
  Oil, he completed his master's degree in civil engineering at the
  University of Houston; in 1974, he launched his own business,
  AM-TEX Corporation, aided by Mrs. Callegari; she contributed her
  skills in marketing and customer relations while raising their four
  children, Butch, Robby, Cherry, and Chip; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of nearly two decades, Mr. Callegari
  co-founded and led the Association of Water Board Directors and
  built AM-TEX into a major regional corporation; he sold the company
  to one of the world's largest utilities in 1993, and building on his
  reputation as a top expert in environmental engineering, he went on
  to own a consulting firm, WC Engineers; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Callegari supported her husband not only in his
  professional endeavors, but also in his career in public life; when
  he ran for the Texas House from Katy in 2000, she charmed potential
  constituents while the whole family donned campaign T-shirts and
  volunteered enthusiastically; during his seven terms in office,
  Representative Callegari gained special recognition for his work on
  water policy; along the way, Mrs. Callegari befriended countless
  members of the Capitol community, mentoring the spouses of new
  legislators and bringing sweets for staff; and
         WHEREAS, In recent years, Mr. and Mrs. Callegari have enjoyed
  traveling around the world, cheering on their grandchildren at
  sporting events, and spending time with loved ones and friends at
  their lake house on Horseshoe Bay; for this milestone anniversary,
  they have planned a cruise in the Caribbean with their family, which
  has grown to include 13 grandchildren, Will, Doug, Derek, David,
  Michael, Dylan, John, Elizabeth, and Paul Callegari, Emory McKim,
  Annie St Paul, and Jacob and Hayden Hickman, as well as 9
  great-grandchildren, Claire, Werd, Andrew, Eletta, and Bear
  Callegari, Carlisle and Quinn McKim, Adeline Kimbrough, and Henry
  St Paul; and
         WHEREAS, Bill and Ann Callegari have enjoyed 65 years of
  abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Honorable Bill Callegari and
  Ann Callegari on their 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them
  sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Callegari as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
