R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of Captain Marvin Hampton
  Taylor III of the Killeen Fire Department suffered an immeasurable
  loss with his passing on May 11, 2025, at the age of 45; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Marvin Taylor Jr. and Marilyn Coddington
  Coster, "Mark" Taylor was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on
  November 18, 1979, and he grew up with the companionship of two
  siblings, Richard and Megan; in 1983, his family relocated to
  Texas, where he attended Ellison High School and Killeen High
  School; and
         WHEREAS, On December 28, 2009, Mr. Taylor married the love of
  his life, the former Samantha Rangel, and the couple were blessed
  with five sons, Robert, John, Michael, Andrew, and Joseph; a man of
  faith, he was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he
  served as a lector and was a member of the men's group; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Taylor earned his associate's degree in
  paramedicine from Central Texas College in 2014, and that same
  year, he joined the Killeen Fire Department; over the course of an
  exemplary tenure spanning more than a decade, he rose through the
  ranks to become fire captain, and he was recently assigned to the
  training division as the operations training captain; he held
  numerous certifications, including advanced structural
  firefighter, field examiner, and swift water boat operator, and as
  a member of the Texas A&M Task Force 1 water rescue and Texas
  Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System wildland teams, he was frequently
  deployed to large-scale incidents both in and out of state; among
  his many accolades, he was honored with the Medal of Valor, the
  Certificate of Merit, and the Rookie of the Year award; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for his selfless dedication to his family
  and his community, Mark Taylor lived a caring and purposeful life,
  and he leaves behind a record of service that his loved ones can
  remember with pride; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Captain Marvin
  Hampton Taylor III and extend deepest condolences to the members of
  his family: to his wife, Samantha Taylor; to his sons, Robert, John,
  Michael, Andrew, and Joseph Taylor; to his parents, Marvin Taylor
  Jr. and Marilyn Coddington Coster; to his siblings, Richard Taylor
  and his wife, Lisa, and Megan Grysko and her husband, Chris; and to
  his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Marvin
  Hampton Taylor III.
