R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Joanna Contreras has ably served her fellow Texans
  as legislative director in the office of State Representative
  Jessica González during the 89th Legislature; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Jo Contreras has managed
  such activities as analyzing bills, facilitating office functions,
  and coordinating hearings; her exceptional leadership skills have
  allowed her to support the House LGBTQ Caucus and to mentor staffers
  and legislative directors in other offices; moreover, her
  contributions to carrying forth Representative González's
  legislative agenda, including assisting with the passage of House
  Bill 1203, have helped address issues facing citizens across the
  Lone Star State; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin,
  Ms. Contreras began her career as a legislative aide with Arnold
  Public Affairs; she went on to serve as a scheduler and operations
  manager in the office of Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia and as an
  assistant clerk for the House Committee on Ways and Means; since
  July 2024, she has been the Voter Assistance Hotline manager for the
  Texas Democratic Party, and she previously served as the
  organization's primary administrator for filing; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed her
  duties as legislative director with skill and dedication, and she
  is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Joanna Contreras for her service as
  legislative director in the office of State Representative Jessica
  González during the 89th Legislative Session and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Contreras as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
