R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Katya Ehresman distinguished herself in her |
|
|
responsibilities as executive director of the House Democratic |
|
|
Caucus during the interim of the 88th Legislature; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Serving under the session's caucus chair, State |
|
|
Representative Trey Martinez Fischer, Ms. Ehresman earned the |
|
|
respect and admiration of her colleagues for her activism and for |
|
|
her steadfast commitment to voter participation, public education, |
|
|
and various other democratic initiatives; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Ehresman brought to her role a wealth of |
|
|
experience in politics; she has been involved in a number of |
|
|
campaigns at the local, state, and national levels, and she worked |
|
|
in the office of State Representative Eddie Rodriguez as |
|
|
communications director for two years; in 2021, she became the |
|
|
voting rights program manager for Common Cause Texas; today, she is |
|
|
employed at Blue Roots Strategies, Inc.; in addition, she has |
|
|
written for the San Antonio Express-News and the Houston Chronicle; |
|
|
she holds a bachelor's degree in government from The University of |
|
|
Texas at Austin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The House Democratic Caucus benefited immensely |
|
|
from Katya Ehresman's leadership, and she may indeed reflect with |
|
|
pride on all that she has accomplished; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Katya Ehresman for her work with the |
|
|
House Democratic Caucus during the 88th Legislature and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Ehresman as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
