R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Pedro Guajardo Jr. of
  Mission were deeply saddened by his death on May 18, 2025, at the
  age of 65; and
         WHEREAS, Born on December 13, 1959, Pete Guajardo was the son
  of Pedro and Esther Guajardo and grew up with the companionship of
  five sisters, Lydia, Herminia, Velma, Socorro, and Esmeralda; and
         WHEREAS, A beloved educator and coach, Mr. Guajardo worked in
  the La Joya Independent School District for three decades; he was a
  mentor to generations of students, and he made a lasting difference
  in their lives with his leadership, kindness, and commitment to
  their success; and
         WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, Mr. Guajardo shared a
  rewarding marriage of 41 years with his wife, Paula, and he took
  great pride in their three children, Pedro, Eugina, and David, and
  their three grandchildren, Ryan, Katie Isabella, and Drew
  Alexandria; known for his booming laugh, quick wit, and
  larger-than-life personality, he brought joy to all those around
  him; and
         WHEREAS, Pete Guajardo dedicated his life to his family, his
  friends, and his students, and he will long be remembered with
  warmth and affection by all who were fortunate enough to know him;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Pedro "Pete"
  Guajardo Jr. and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Paula Guajardo; to his son, Pedro Guajardo III
  and his wife, Jessica; to his daughter, Eugina Rae Guajardo; to his
  grandchildren, Ryan, Katie Isabella, and Drew Alexandria; to his
  sisters, Lydia Soto, Herminia Cardenas, and Velma Cavazos; and to
  his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Pete
  Guajardo.
