R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dr. Jose Manuel Lozano of Falfurrias retired in
  March 2025, following four decades of dedicated service to his
  patients in South Texas; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara,
  Dr. Lozano received his medical degree in 1978; he engaged in
  public service before going on to complete his residency at Saint
  Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, and during his time in the
  city, he also worked as an emergency room physician at Saint Anthony
  Hospital; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Lozano and his family traveled from Illinois to
  Guadalajara every summer, and during one of those trips, he decided
  to make his home in Texas; in 1985, he relocated to Premont, and 15
  years later, he established his practice in Falfurrias; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Dr. Lozano has been both a
  trusted physician and an active member of the community; he has
  taken joy in watching the children he delivered grow up, and he has
  sponsored Little League teams and been involved in a number of local
  events; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Lozano shares a fulfilling marriage with his
  wife of 53 years, Martha Lozano, who has supported him in all his
  endeavors; he is the proud father of six children, Margie Hellums,
  Martha Hornsby, Maria Lozano Gorena, State Representative J. M.
  Lozano, Violet Saenz, and Annie Saavedra; through the years, his
  treasured family has grown to include 16 grandchildren and 5
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Through his skill, compassion, and devotion to his
  patients and the wider community, Dr. Jose Lozano has earned the
  deep respect and gratitude of innumerable people, and his
  contributions are indeed worthy of special recognition; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Jose Manuel Lozano on his
  retirement and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Lozano as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
