R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Round Rock Community Choir is celebrating its |
|
40th anniversary in 2025, and this occasion provides a welcome |
|
opportunity to honor this respected arts group; and |
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1985, the Round Rock Community Choir was |
|
established by Dr. Linda Bolding and a group of local residents who |
|
were passionate about expanding the quality and variety of the |
|
area's performing arts offerings; each season, the ensemble |
|
showcases three concerts featuring music that spans such genres as |
|
classical, Broadway, bluegrass, and Celtic, and its free holiday |
|
concert is an annual community tradition; in addition, the choir |
|
sings the national anthem at the opening day game of the Round Rock |
|
Express baseball team each April, and the group entertains the |
|
attendees of the Round Rock Arts Fest every fall; and |
|
WHEREAS, To better serve the individual talents of its |
|
members, the choir also serves as the umbrella organization to |
|
three ensembles, Bella Voce, Camerata, and the Round Rock Youth |
|
Choir; the Round Rock Community Choir is ably led by its board of |
|
directors, which includes president Christopher Walker, vice |
|
president of fundraising Jordan Kapusinski, vice president of |
|
membership Jill Haehnel, and artistic director David Allen; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Round Rock Community Choir greatly enhances the |
|
vibrant cultural life of Central Texas, and it is indeed deserving |
|
of recognition for its contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Round |
|
Rock Community Choir and extend to its members sincere best wishes |
|
for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the choir as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
