R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the kindness and
  generosity of Richard Dennis Worrell of Plano, who passed away on
  May 17, 2025, at the age of 81; and
         WHEREAS, The son of James and Marian Worrell, Dennis Worrell
  was born on December 19, 1943, in Yakima, Washington, and grew up
  sharing in the companionship of his two older brothers, Ronald and
  Duane; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Worrell enlisted in the U.S. Army at a young
  age, and over the course of a 25-year career with the military, he
  bravely served his country in Vietnam; following his retirement
  from the army, he spent another 15 years training soldiers on
  military technology as an army defense contractor; along the way,
  he earned a bachelor's degree from Cameron University and a master's
  degree from Golden Gate University; and
         WHEREAS, On May 27, 1972, Mr. Worrell married the former
  Mary Lou Sifuentes, and the couple went on to share a richly
  rewarding union that spanned more than half a century; he took great
  pride in his children, Christina and Richard, and with the passing
  years, he had the privilege of seeing his family grow to include
  four grandchildren, Ryan, Elizabeth, Leah, and Nicole; and
         WHEREAS, After traveling the world during his time in the
  military, Mr. Worrell settled in Plano with his family and embraced
  his adopted state, becoming a fan of the Texas Longhorns and the
  Dallas Cowboys; he enjoyed a variety of activities in his leisure
  hours, including traveling, playing cards, and hosting pool
  parties; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his family, his faith, and his
  country, Dennis Worrell earned the lasting respect and admiration
  of all who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Richard Dennis
  Worrell and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family:
  to his wife, Mary Worrell; to his children, Christina Worrell
  Adkins and her husband, Michael, and Richard Dennis Worrell Jr. and
  his wife, Victoria; to his grandchildren, Ryan and Elizabeth
  Adkins, Leah Worrell, and Nicole Lujan; and to his many other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dennis
  Worrell.
