R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, PowerHouse Church in Katy is hosting the Wise Up to |
|
Rise Up Foundation's Winner's Circle 2025 event on August 2, 2025; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, The Wise Up to Rise Up Foundation is dedicated to |
|
empowering underserved youth and at-risk students who have endured |
|
circumstances such as witnessing domestic violence, navigating the |
|
foster care system, living below the federal poverty line, and |
|
struggling with mental health and low self-esteem; through |
|
mentorship, recognition programs, motivational events, and |
|
creative community partnerships, the foundation encourages young |
|
people to reach their full potential, and many have gone on to |
|
receive recognition from a variety of institutions, such as the |
|
President's Education Awards Program; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Winner's Circle 2025 event welcomes students |
|
from across both the Katy and the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent |
|
School Districts, and it will feature inspiring talks and |
|
presentations that showcase how young leaders in the fields of |
|
science, art, innovation, and humanitarianism are impacting the |
|
world; the event focuses on fostering purpose, identity, and |
|
belonging while also equipping students with the knowledge, skills, |
|
and guidance necessary to rise above negative influences and peer |
|
pressure; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through its support of the Wise Up to Rise Up |
|
Foundation's Winner's Circle 2025 event, PowerHouse Church is |
|
helping to uplift a generation of young Texans and in so doing, it |
|
is making an important investment in the future leaders of the Lone |
|
Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend PowerHouse Church for hosting the Wise |
|
Up to Rise Up Foundation's Winner's Circle 2025 event and extend to |
|
all those associated with the church sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
