R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Isaac Cancio of Corpus Christi distinguished |
|
|
himself through his exceptional performance at the Scripps National |
|
|
Spelling Bee held in Washington, D.C., on May 27-29, 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An eighth-grade student at Marvin Baker Middle |
|
|
School, Isaac completed nine rounds in the tournament; he finished |
|
|
as a semifinalist among 243 spellers and won a commemorative medal |
|
|
and a $500 gift card; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This gifted young man has been a dominant presence |
|
|
at local and regional spelling bees for years; after clinching the |
|
|
title at the South Texas Regional Spelling Bee in March, he earned |
|
|
the opportunity to compete on the national stage for the first time; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With his impressive showing in the Scripps National |
|
|
Spelling Bee, Isaac Cancio has brought great credit to his school |
|
|
and to his community, and the dedication and skill he has |
|
|
demonstrated are sure to serve him well in the years ahead; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Isaac Cancio on his participation |
|
|
in the 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee and extend to him sincere |
|
|
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Isaac as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
