R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Ginny Mendez has distinguished herself in her
  responsibilities as a Mexican American Legislative Leadership
  Fellow in the office of State Representative Rafael Anchía during
  the 89th Legislative Session; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Mendez has provided
  vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks;
  she has conducted policy research, communicated with stakeholders,
  and drafted talking points and memos, and she has also served as a
  liaison on issues such as education, social justice, health, and
  immigration; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Mendez is a graduate of The University of Texas
  at Dallas, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Latin American
  Studies and served as president of Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority; she
  has held a variety of leadership roles with LULAC, which has
  recognized her with Young Adult Woman of the Year and Woman of the
  Year accolades, and she completed an internship with Somos Tejas;
  previously, she worked as an administrative and contracts
  coordinator with Innovation Group Electric Inc.; and
         WHEREAS, Ginny Mendez has performed her duties as a Mexican
  American Legislative Leadership Fellow with skill and dedication,
  and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine
  work; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Ginny Mendez for her service as a
  Mexican American Legislative Leadership Fellow in the office of
  State Representative Rafael Anchía and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Mendez as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
