R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Ginny Mendez has distinguished herself in her |
|
responsibilities as a Mexican American Legislative Leadership |
|
Fellow in the office of State Representative Rafael Anchía during |
|
the 89th Legislative Session; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Mendez has provided |
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |
|
she has conducted policy research, communicated with stakeholders, |
|
and drafted talking points and memos, and she has also served as a |
|
liaison on issues such as education, social justice, health, and |
|
immigration; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Mendez is a graduate of The University of Texas |
|
at Dallas, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Latin American |
|
Studies and served as president of Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority; she |
|
has held a variety of leadership roles with LULAC, which has |
|
recognized her with Young Adult Woman of the Year and Woman of the |
|
Year accolades, and she completed an internship with Somos Tejas; |
|
previously, she worked as an administrative and contracts |
|
coordinator with Innovation Group Electric Inc.; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ginny Mendez has performed her duties as a Mexican |
|
American Legislative Leadership Fellow with skill and dedication, |
|
and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine |
|
work; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Ginny Mendez for her service as a |
|
Mexican American Legislative Leadership Fellow in the office of |
|
State Representative Rafael Anchía and extend to her sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Mendez as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
