R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Joshua Daniel King of
  Weatherford on April 5, 2025, at the age of 37, has profoundly
  saddened the many people who loved him; and
         WHEREAS, Josh King was born in Fort Worth on December 29,
  1987, to Phil and Terry King, and he was raised in Weatherford with
  his five sisters, Kristy, Sarah, Hannah, Mary, and Leah; he
  attended Trinity Christian Academy before obtaining a bachelor's
  degree in business from Dallas Baptist University, where he played
  tennis; he later earned a master's degree in business
  administration; and
         WHEREAS, A skilled businessman, Mr. King played a vital role
  in the growth of the national company Select Mat, and he further
  distinguished himself as its CEO and executive vice president; he
  also worked with Call Box and gained valuable experience during his
  time as a partner at Steergate Payment Solutions; in addition, he
  was a professional tennis coach with Four Seasons Hotels; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. King benefited from the
  support and affection of his wife, Sarah, with whom he shared a
  fulfilling union that spanned half a decade, and he was a devoted
  father to their daughter, Katelyn; he enjoyed pursuing hobbies such
  as fishing and pickleball, and he was an avid fan of the Texas
  Rangers; above all else, he treasured time spent with his family,
  which also included his 17 nieces and nephews; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. King drew strength from his deep faith, and he
  participated in the Cultivate men's Bible study group; he remained
  steadfast in his spiritual beliefs during his courageous battle
  with brain cancer, and he inspired all those around him through his
  resilience and determination, often reminding them that "God is not
  failing us. He is fulfilling His promises to us"; and
         WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Josh King
  leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far
  richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured
  place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Joshua Daniel King
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Sarah King; to his daughter, Katelyn King; to his parents,
  State Senator Phil King and Terry King; to his grandmother, Barbara
  King; to his sisters, Kristy Moseley and her husband, Ric, Sarah
  Holt and her husband, Jacob, Hannah Jones and her husband, Daniel,
  Mary Haye and her husband, Austin, and Leah King; and to his other
  relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Josh King.
