R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State of |
|
Texas, 89th Legislature, Regular Session, 2025, That House Rule 13, |
|
Section 9(a), be suspended in part as provided by House Rule 13, |
|
Section 9(f), to enable the conference committee appointed to |
|
resolve the differences on Senate Bill 650 (requiring the use of |
|
electronically readable information to verify a purchaser's age in |
|
the retail sale of alcoholic beverages) to consider and take action |
|
on the following matter: |
|
House Rule 13, Section 9(a)(2), is suspended to permit the |
|
committee to omit text not in disagreement in proposed SECTION 2 of |
|
the bill, by omitting added Section 109.61(a-1)(1)(A)(i), |
|
Alcoholic Beverage Code. The omitted text reads: |
|
(i) a package store permit; |
|
Explanation: The change is necessary to require the holder |
|
of a package store permit to visually inspect and access |
|
electronically readable information on a driver's license, |
|
commercial driver's license, or other identification certificate |
|
for the purpose of verifying a purchaser's age in the retail sale of |
|
an alcoholic beverage on the premises of the package store for |
|
off-premises consumption. |
