R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Jack Baxley is retiring as vice president of |
|
governmental affairs for TEXO, The Construction Association, in |
|
March 2026, following more than three and a half decades of service |
|
to the construction industry; and |
|
WHEREAS, Formed in 2009, TEXO represents nearly 400 member |
|
companies responsible for over $20 billion of construction volume |
|
in North and East Texas; the organization is a joint chapter of the |
|
Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and Associated |
|
Builders and Contractors (ABC); and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Baxley played a crucial role in the series of |
|
mergers of AGC and ABC chapters that led to the establishment of |
|
TEXO; moreover, he ran the AGC Fort Worth chapter before becoming |
|
vice president of governmental affairs for a predecessor of TEXO; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Baxley has worked tirelessly |
|
to assist TEXO members and advance their interests; he has been |
|
involved in addressing numerous issues affecting the industry, and |
|
he excelled in managing complex relationships with governments |
|
during the COVID-19 pandemic; over the course of his tenure, TEXO |
|
has received annual awards from the national ABC organization for |
|
advocacy and grassroots efforts in Texas; he currently represents |
|
TEXO on both state board entities, ABC Texas and AGC-Texas Building |
|
Branch; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jack Baxley has demonstrated an exceptional |
|
commitment to the construction industry in North Texas and beyond, |
|
and as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life, he may |
|
indeed reflect with satisfaction on his accomplishments; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jack Baxley on his retirement as |
|
vice president of governmental affairs for TEXO, The Construction |
|
Association, and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Baxley as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
