R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, State Representatives Ryan Guillen and Richard Peña |
|
|
Raymond have earned the distinction of being the longest-serving |
|
|
desk mates in the history of the Texas House of Representatives; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The pair first began sharing a desk in the House |
|
|
Chamber in January 2003, and as of the 89th Legislature, they have |
|
|
been seated side by side for 12 regular sessions, surpassing the |
|
|
total of 11 regular sessions set by Representatives Phil King and |
|
|
Geanie Morrison between 2001 and 2021; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While working in close proximity to one another, |
|
|
desk mates in the Texas House form a unique bond marked by their |
|
|
shared commitment to public service, and Representatives Guillen |
|
|
and Raymond may indeed take pride in their record-setting history |
|
|
as close neighbors in the House Chamber; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate State Representative Ryan Guillen |
|
|
and State Representative Richard Peña Raymond on becoming the |
|
|
longest-serving desk mates in the history of the Texas House and |
|
|
extend to them sincere appreciation for their dedicated service; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Representatives Guillen and Raymond as an expression |
|
|
of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
