R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Former state representative Kyle J. Kacal retired on |
|
|
January 14, 2025, concluding more than a decade of exemplary |
|
|
service to the citizens of District 12; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, After taking office in the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives in 2013, Mr. Kacal demonstrated a steadfast |
|
|
commitment to conservative values, individual liberties, and |
|
|
fiscal responsibility, and he was an effective champion for rural |
|
|
Texans; he served on numerous committees, including multiple terms |
|
|
on the Natural Resources and Environmental Regulation Committees, |
|
|
and he further distinguished himself as vice chair of the Rules and |
|
|
Resolutions Committee during the 84th and 85th Legislatures and as |
|
|
vice chair of the Corrections Committee during the 88th |
|
|
Legislature; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A longtime resident of the Brazos Valley area, |
|
|
Mr. Kacal runs a large-scale beef cattle ranch near College |
|
|
Station, and he also operates a full-service hunting business |
|
|
during the fall and spring seasons; prior to working in the |
|
|
agricultural industry, he was employed at Jefferson Pilot; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A man of deep faith, Mr. Kacal is a member of the St. |
|
|
Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish; he holds a bachelor's degree in |
|
|
political science from Texas A&M University and a certificate of |
|
|
ranch management from Texas Christian University; in all his |
|
|
endeavors, he benefits from the love and support of his wife, Marci, |
|
|
and he takes great pride in their children, Carter and Kendall; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his career in public office, Kyle |
|
|
Kacal made a positive difference in the lives of countless Texans, |
|
|
and his contributions have earned him the lasting respect and |
|
|
appreciation of his colleagues and fellow citizens alike; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor former state representative Kyle J. Kacal |
|
|
for his service and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Kacal as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
