R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Ben Cooper has distinguished himself in his |
|
responsibilities as a policy analyst in the office of State |
|
Representative Steve Toth during the 89th Legislative Session; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Cooper has worked as a |
|
policy analyst and provided vital assistance in handling a wide |
|
variety of challenging tasks; among other essential functions, he |
|
has helped draft and edit legislative materials, led research and |
|
policy development efforts related to electoral and environmental |
|
issues, and worked to improve the office's internal information |
|
systems; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of |
|
public service, he has learned more about the legislative process |
|
and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Cooper is a graduate of the University of |
|
Houston, where he earned a bachelor's degree in engineering and has |
|
contributed to a number of groundbreaking research projects; |
|
dedicated to public service and advocacy, he has testified before |
|
the U.S. House of Representatives about the positive impacts of |
|
educational technology, met with the U.S. Secretary of Education to |
|
discuss reforms for students with learning disabilities, and |
|
advocated at the federal level for the expansion of testing |
|
accommodations; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ben Cooper has performed his duties as a policy |
|
analyst with skill and dedication, and he is indeed deserving of |
|
special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Ben Cooper for his service as a policy |
|
analyst in the office of State Representative Steve Toth and extend |
|
to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all his |
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Cooper as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
