A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to an annual school district profile report by the Texas |
|
|
Education Agency. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 7, Education Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 7.009 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 7.009. SCHOOL DISTRICT PROFILE REPORT. (a) Not later |
|
|
than December 31 of each year, the agency shall prepare and make |
|
|
available on the agency's Internet website a report that provides |
|
|
an overview of public education at the state and school district |
|
|
levels for the preceding school year. |
|
|
(b) The report must: |
|
|
(1) include multiple browsable and downloadable data |
|
|
elements that: |
|
|
(A) combine data into summary tables based on |
|
|
specific characteristics of school districts; and |
|
|
(B) provide specific data on individual school |
|
|
districts; |
|
|
(2) include a peer search function that allows a user |
|
|
to group school districts by shared characteristics; and |
|
|
(3) provide definitions for each data element and the |
|
|
source of the data. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
