A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to certain agreements arising out of special |
|
|
investigations conducted by the Texas Education Agency. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 39.004, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (m) to read as follows: |
|
|
(m) An agreement between the agency and a school district to |
|
|
conclude a special investigation of the district under Section |
|
|
39.003 and impose a sanction on the district: |
|
|
(1) is subject to disclosure under Chapter 552, |
|
|
Government Code; |
|
|
(2) must describe in plain language the allegations |
|
|
against the district that gave rise to the investigation; and |
|
|
(3) must include any factual findings that are related |
|
|
to the allegations described by Subdivision (2) and to which the |
|
|
agency and the district agree. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 39.004(m), Education Code, as added by |
|
|
this Act, applies only to an agreement entered into on or after the |
|
|
effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
