A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the continuation of the Task Force on Consolidation of |
|
|
Workforce and Social Services. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 319.005, Labor Code, is amended to read |
|
|
as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 319.005. REPORT TO LEGISLATURE. Not later than |
|
|
December 31 of each even-numbered year [, 2024], the task force |
|
|
shall prepare and submit to the legislature a report that includes: |
|
|
(1) a description of the activities of the task force; |
|
|
(2) the consolidation plan developed by the task |
|
|
force; and |
|
|
(3) the findings and recommendations of the task |
|
|
force. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 319.006, Labor Code, is amended to read |
|
|
as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 319.006. EXPIRATION. The task force is abolished and |
|
|
this chapter expires September 1, 2027 [2025]. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
