A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the use of telemedicine services in the juvenile |
|
|
justice system. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 244, Human Resources Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 244.0095 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 244.0095. CERTAIN MEDICAL CARE SERVICES REQUIRED. In |
|
|
providing medical care, the department shall contract for |
|
|
telemedicine services to be available when a physician, advanced |
|
|
practice registered nurse, or physician assistant is not present at |
|
|
the facility where the services are to be provided. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
