A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the creation of an additional county civil court at law |
|
|
in Harris County. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 25.1031(a), Government Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) Harris County has the following county civil courts at |
|
|
law: |
|
|
(1) County Civil Court at Law No. 1 of Harris County, |
|
|
Texas; |
|
|
(2) County Civil Court at Law No. 2 of Harris County, |
|
|
Texas; |
|
|
(3) County Civil Court at Law No. 3 of Harris County, |
|
|
Texas; [and] |
|
|
(4) County Civil Court at Law No. 4 of Harris County, |
|
|
Texas; and |
|
|
(5) County Civil Court at Law No. 5 of Harris County, |
|
|
Texas. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The County Civil Court at Law No. 5 of Harris |
|
|
County is created on the effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
