A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the eligibility of certain engineering firms to |
|
|
participate in the construction of a reservoir. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 16.051, Water Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
Subsection (g-2) to read as follows: |
|
|
(g-2) An engineering firm may not participate in the |
|
|
construction of a reservoir at a site designated as a site of unique |
|
|
value for the construction of a reservoir in the state water plan |
|
|
described by this section if the firm was contracted with or |
|
|
procured to assist in: |
|
|
(1) preparing a state water plan described by this |
|
|
section; |
|
|
(2) preparing a regional water plan described by |
|
|
Section 16.053; or |
|
|
(3) evaluating the feasibility of a project contained |
|
|
in a water plan described by Subdivision (1) or (2). |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
