A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to designating October 21 as Unplug Texas Day. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 662.089 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 662.089. UNPLUG TEXAS DAY. (a) October 21 is Unplug |
|
|
Texas Day to encourage Texans to unplug from their electronic |
|
|
devices and plug into play, creativity, friendship, adventure, and |
|
|
family. |
|
|
(b) Unplug Texas Day may be regularly observed by |
|
|
appropriate programs and activities coordinated by state and local |
|
|
parks and recreation agencies and departments to promote the |
|
|
recreational opportunities available at parks and other recreation |
|
|
facilities. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
