A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the termination and compensation of a city manager. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 150, Local Government Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subchapter D to read as follows: |
|
|
SUBCHAPTER D. COMPENSATION AND TERMINATION OF CITY MANAGER |
|
|
Sec. 150.061. COMPENSATION AND TERMINATION OF CITY MANAGER. |
|
|
(a) Only the governing body of a municipality may terminate or |
|
|
adjust the compensation of a city manager. |
|
|
(b) This section prevails over any conflicting charter |
|
|
provision of a home-rule municipality. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
