A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to notification by certain hospitals of certain standard
  of care information.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 241, Health and Safety
  Code is amended by adding Section 241.013 to read as follows:
         Sec. 241.013  DISCLOSURE BY HOSPITALS OF PEDIATRIC STANDARD
  OF CARE INFORMATION. (a) In this section, a hospital includes any
  hospital owned or operated by the state.
         (b)  A hospital shall provide disclosure to the public
  regarding the standard of care available for pediatric patients.
         (c)  The required disclosure information shall include
  whether the hospital is classified as a pediatric and adolescent
  hospital or a special hospital with the ability to provide
  emergency medical treatment and stabilization for pediatric
  patients, in accordance with nationally recognized standards.
         (d)  The hospital shall provide disclosure to the public,
  including prospective patients, through the following ways:
               (1)  verbally, when reasonable;
               (2)  in a prominent location on their official internet
  website; and
               (3)  by the hospital:
                     (A)  on any printed materials about emergency
  care; and 
                     (B)  during the registration or check-in process
  for emergency services.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
