A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to removal of territory from certain emergency services |
|
|
districts. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 775.0235, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(a-1) The board shall remove territory from a district as |
|
|
provided by this section on request of a municipality if: |
|
|
(1) the territory is included in the corporate limits |
|
|
of the municipality; |
|
|
(2) the municipality has a population of more than |
|
|
10,000 but less than 19,000; and |
|
|
(3) the territory is located in a county with a |
|
|
population of more than 1 million and less than 1.5 million. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. |
