A JOINT RESOLUTION
  proposing a constitutional amendment to make gender neutral the
  constitutional provisions governing the qualifications of a person
  to be a senator or member of the house of representatives.
         BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 6, Article III, Texas Constitution, is
  amended to read as follows:
         Sec. 6.  No person shall be a Senator, unless the person [he]
  be a citizen of the United States, and, at the time of the person's
  [his] election a qualified voter of this State, and shall have been
  a resident of this State five years next preceding the person's
  [his] election, and the last year thereof a resident of the district
  for which the person [he] shall be chosen, and shall have attained
  the age of twenty-six years.
         SECTION 2.  Section 7, Article III, Texas Constitution, is
  amended to read as follows:
         Sec. 7.  No person shall be a Representative, unless the
  person [he] be a citizen of the United States, and, at the time of
  the person's [his] election, a qualified voter of this State, and
  shall have been a resident of this State two years next preceding
  the person's [his] election, the last year thereof a resident of the
  district for which the person [he] shall be chosen, and shall have
  attained the age of twenty-one years.
         SECTION 3.  This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
  submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025.
  The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the
  proposition: "The constitutional amendment to make gender neutral
  the constitutional provisions governing the qualifications of a
  person to be a senator or member of the house of representatives."
