SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 4
|
|
WHEREAS, J. Scott Moore is retiring from |
|
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on June 30, 2025, drawing to a close |
|
an exemplary career in public accounting that has spanned more |
|
than three and a half decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, A member of the PwC board, Mr. Moore is also the |
|
managing partner of the firm's Dallas office; in addition, he is |
|
a member of the American Institute of Certified Public |
|
Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public |
|
Accountants; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Moore's previous experience includes his work |
|
in the mergers and acquisitions practice at PwC's Boston office |
|
for two years, and in 2007, he took on the role of retail and |
|
consumer tax sector leader for the firm's U.S. operations; in |
|
2009, he became the North Texas tax market leader, and he held |
|
that position for six years before being named the North Texas |
|
managing partner; he went on to serve as the managing partner for |
|
the Greater Texas market, which includes offices in Texas, |
|
Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, and he ably led a practice of |
|
over 4,000 public accounting professionals before assuming his |
|
current position; he holds bachelor's and master's degrees in |
|
accounting from Texas Tech University; and |
|
WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Moore is a former |
|
board chair for the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas and the Dallas |
|
Children's Advocacy Center, and he has served on the boards of the |
|
PwC SMU Athletic Forum, The Catholic Foundation, and the Dallas |
|
Theater Center; he is also a past president of the St. Thomas |
|
Aquinas School Advisory Council, and he has been involved in the |
|
Dallas Regional Chamber and Leadership Dallas; and |
|
WHEREAS, The leadership, professionalism, and commitment to |
|
excellence demonstrated by Scott Moore have made him an invaluable |
|
asset to PwC, and he may reflect with pride on a career well spent |
|
as he embarks upon the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
Legislature, hereby congratulate J. Scott Moore on his |
|
retirement from PricewaterhouseCoopers and extend to him sincere |
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Moore as an expression of high regard from the |
|
Texas Senate. |
