R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, J. Scott Moore is retiring from |
|
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on June 30, 2025, drawing to a close |
|
an exemplary career in public accounting that has spanned more than |
|
three and a half decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, A member of the PwC board, Mr. Moore is also the |
|
managing partner of the firm's Dallas office; in addition, he is a |
|
member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants |
|
and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Moore's previous experience includes his work |
|
in the mergers and acquisitions practice at PwC's Boston office for |
|
two years, and in 2007, he took on the role of retail and consumer |
|
tax sector leader for the firm's U.S. operations; in 2009, he became |
|
the North Texas tax market leader, and he held that position for six |
|
years before being named the North Texas managing partner; he went |
|
on to serve as the managing partner for the Greater Texas market, |
|
which includes offices in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, |
|
and he ably led a practice of over 4,000 public accounting |
|
professionals before assuming his current position; he holds |
|
bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from Texas Tech |
|
University; and |
|
WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Moore is a former board |
|
chair for the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas and the Dallas Children's |
|
Advocacy Center, and he has served on the boards of the PwC SMU |
|
Athletic Forum, The Catholic Foundation, and the Dallas Theater |
|
Center; he is also a past president of the St. Thomas Aquinas School |
|
Advisory Council, and he has been involved in the Dallas Regional |
|
Chamber and Leadership Dallas; and |
|
WHEREAS, The leadership, professionalism, and commitment to |
|
excellence demonstrated by Scott Moore have made him an invaluable |
|
asset to PwC, and he may reflect with pride on a career well spent as |
|
he embarks upon the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby congratulate J. Scott Moore on his retirement from |
|
PricewaterhouseCoopers and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Moore as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
Senate. |
