SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Dr. Terrance Hines, who is serving as Physician of the |
|
|
Day at the State Capitol on January 14, 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each day of the legislative session, a member of |
|
|
the Texas Academy of Family Physicians volunteers valuable time |
|
|
away from their practice to assist legislators and support staff |
|
|
at the Capitol health clinic; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Terrance Hines is the executive director and |
|
|
chief medical officer for University Health Services at The |
|
|
University of Texas at Austin, where he manages a large, |
|
|
multi-specialty clinic that provides care to a diverse |
|
|
population of university students; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Hines earned his undergraduate and medical |
|
|
degrees from Texas A&M University; he is a family medicine |
|
|
board-certified physician passionate about making a difference |
|
|
in his community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed leader and administrator in health |
|
|
care serves on the boards of the Texas Academy of Family |
|
|
Physicians, AIDS Services of Austin, and Baylor Scott and White |
|
|
Health Austin/Round Rock Region, and he is a highly regarded |
|
|
faculty member of Texas A&M University and The University of |
|
|
Texas at Austin medical schools; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Dr. Hines has |
|
|
provided compassionate care to individuals and families from a |
|
|
wide range of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds; he |
|
|
exemplifies the highest ideals of the medical profession, and it |
|
|
is indeed a pleasure to welcome him to the State Capitol; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Terrance Hines for his |
|
|
participation in the Physician of the Day program and extend to |
|
|
him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
