SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 9
         WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Chapter of the American
  Public Works Association are visiting the State Capitol on
  January 29, 2025; and
 
         WHEREAS, APWA is a national organization that supports those
  who operate, improve, and maintain public works and infrastructure;
  the group's Texas chapter consists of more than 2,100 members and
  nine local branches, and its offerings include a variety of
  educational and informative events, services that promote
  professional development, and leadership opportunities; and
 
         WHEREAS, Public workers play a critical role in the state's
  transportationinfrastructure,assetmanagement, sustainability,
  and emergency response; they help to enhance the quality of life
  in over 1,200 municipalities across Texas by maintaining assets
  such as bridges, roads, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, and public
  water systems; and
 
         WHEREAS, By supporting those in the field of public works,
  the Texas Chapter of APWA has contributed to the vitality and
  prosperity of the Lone Star State, and it is a pleasure to join in
  honoring the group on this special occasion; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby recognize January 29, 2025, as Texas American
  Public Works Association Day at the State Capitol and extend to all
  those affiliated with the organization sincere best wishes for
  continued success in their important work; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for the Texas Chapter of APWA as an expression of high
  regard from the Texas Senate.
