SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the |
|
citizens of Dallas in mourning the loss of Jimmy Dale Patterson, |
|
who died December 10, 2024, at the age of 68; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jim was born on January 30, 1956; as the youngest |
|
of eight children, he was adored by his older siblings and was |
|
raised by his large and loving family in Spur; and |
|
WHEREAS, After earning a bachelor's degree in business |
|
administration from North Texas State University, Jim began his |
|
career as an accountant for Mobil Oil Corporation; he went on to |
|
find much success in the banking industry and served in |
|
leadership positions for nearly two decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, A man of many pursuits, Jim joined the Dallas |
|
County Tax Office as an accountant in 2009, and his contributions |
|
to the office and to the commissioners court and sheriff's office |
|
were highly valued; his professional excellence, his aptitude |
|
with numbers, and his exemplary leadership earned him the respect |
|
of his colleagues, and he was recognized with numerous awards |
|
over the course of his distinguished career; and |
|
WHEREAS, Above all, Jim cherished time spent with his |
|
loved ones, and he delighted in cooking his famous barbecue and |
|
Sunday meals for his family and dear friends, including his best |
|
friend of over 50 years, Alfred Craig; he was blessed with two |
|
children, Evan and Alyssa, and two grandchildren, Giana and Eian, |
|
who were a source of pride and joy to him and enriched his life |
|
immeasurably; and |
|
WHEREAS, A man of integrity, determination, and strong |
|
character, Jim gave unselfishly to others, and he leaves behind |
|
memories that will long be treasured by all who were privileged |
|
to share in his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
family of Jimmy Dale Patterson; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
memory of Jimmy Dale Patterson. |
