R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Proud residents of Dallas are gathering in Austin on
  February 4, 2025, for Dallas Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1841 and formally incorporated in 1856,
  Dallas has grown into a thriving metropolis with a population of
  more than 1.3 million people; it serves as a hub for business,
  innovation, and culture, and its diverse economy includes finance,
  technology, health care, manufacturing, and transportation; and
         WHEREAS, A leader in corporate headquarters relocations,
  economic development, and job creation, Dallas is home to numerous
  Fortune 500 companies; the city's business-friendly environment,
  world-class infrastructure, and strategic location make it a
  powerhouse in the state, national, and global economies; and
         WHEREAS, Dallas offers premier shopping and dining
  experiences along with a vibrant arts community, which includes
  renowned cultural institutions such as the Dallas Museum of Art,
  the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, the Nasher Sculpture
  Center, and the AT&T Performing Arts Center; in addition, the
  Dallas Arts District is the largest contiguous urban arts district
  in the nation; and
         WHEREAS, Dallas is a hub for sports and recreation; the city
  is home to the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars, and residents are
  also devoted to the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and FC Dallas,
  which play their home games in nearby cities; Fair Park, home to the
  historic Cotton Bowl Stadium and the annual State Fair of Texas,
  remains a cherished institution, drawing millions of visitors each
  year; and
         WHEREAS, The city offers exceptional green spaces and
  recreational opportunities, including Klyde Warren Park, White
  Rock Lake, and the Katy Trail, promoting a high quality of life for
  all those who live and work in the community; and
         WHEREAS, The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
  and Baylor University Medical Center stand as pillars of excellence
  in health care and medical research, providing world-class
  treatment and attracting top-tier medical professionals; and
         WHEREAS, Dallas continues to make significant strides in
  sustainability and innovation, with advancements in renewable
  energy, green building initiatives, and extensive public
  transportation options, including Dallas Area Rapid Transit
  (DART), one of the largest light rail networks in the nation; and
         WHEREAS, The city's leaders, in partnership with
  organizations such as the Dallas Regional Chamber, remain committed
  to economic growth, education, and community development, ensuring
  that Dallas remains one of the most vibrant and forward-thinking
  cities in the United States; and
         WHEREAS, With its bold spirit and dynamic vision, Dallas
  exemplifies the motto "Live large. Think big." and its citizens may
  take justifiable pride in the important role their community
  continues to play in the story of the Lone Star State; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature
  hereby recognize February 4, 2025, as Dallas Day at the State
  Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the visiting delegation.
