SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 64

Donald Hollier |
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the |
|
passing of Donald Jean Hollier of Houston on December 24, 2024, |
|
at the age of 66; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Gerald Dominic and Sadie Mae Hollier, |
|
Don Hollier was born in Port Arthur on February 10, 1958, and he |
|
grew up with the companionship of his brother, Jerry; he |
|
graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1976, and in 1981, |
|
he earned a degree from Lamar University; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Hollier went on to enjoy a successful career |
|
as a private insurance auditor with RIS and its affiliates that |
|
spanned more than three decades and took him across the nation |
|
and abroad; and |
|
WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Hollier took great pride in |
|
his sons, Brendon and Cory, and with the passing years, he |
|
delighted in becoming "Poppy" to his grandson, Harrison; he |
|
looked forward to going on trips to Colorado each summer with his |
|
family; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Don Hollier is greatly missed, memories |
|
of his generosity, his sense of humor, and his devotion to his |
|
family remain to comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Donald Jean |
|
Hollier and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of his |
|
family: to his ex-wife and lifelong friend, Cathy |
|
Pellerin-Hollier; to his sons, Brendon Hollier and his wife, |
|
Amanda, and Cory Hollier and his wife, Kathryn; to his grandson, |
|
Harrison Hollier; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
this day, it do so in memory of Don Hollier. |
