R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the |
|
passing of Donald Jean Hollier of Houston on December 24, 2024, at |
|
the age of 66; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Gerald Dominic and Sadie Mae Hollier, Don |
|
Hollier was born in Port Arthur on February 10, 1958, and he grew up |
|
with the companionship of his brother, Jerry; he graduated from |
|
Thomas Jefferson High School in 1976, and in 1981, he earned a |
|
degree from Lamar University; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Hollier went on to enjoy a successful career as a |
|
private insurance auditor with RIS and its affiliates that spanned |
|
more than three decades and took him across the nation and abroad; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Hollier took great pride in his |
|
sons, Brendon and Cory, and with the passing years, he delighted in |
|
becoming "Poppy" to his grandson, Harrison; he looked forward to |
|
going on trips to Colorado each summer with his family; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Don Hollier is greatly missed, memories of |
|
his generosity, his sense of humor, and his devotion to his family |
|
remain to comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby pay tribute to the life of Donald Jean Hollier and extend |
|
heartfelt condolences to the members of his family: to his ex-wife |
|
and lifelong friend, Cathy Pellerin-Hollier; to his sons, Brendon |
|
Hollier and his wife, Amanda, and Cory Hollier and his wife, |
|
Kathryn; to his grandson, Harrison Hollier; and to his other |
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of Don Hollier. |
