R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Independent Automobile Dealers |
|
|
Association are gathering at the State Capitol on February 11, |
|
|
2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1944, TIADA is a nonprofit trade |
|
|
association dedicated to supporting Texas independent automobile |
|
|
dealers through advocacy, education, and promotion; the |
|
|
organization provides its members with a range of resources, among |
|
|
them professional development opportunities and legal services; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With more than 1,400 members, TIADA plays a |
|
|
significant role in the economy; during the 2024 fiscal year, Texas |
|
|
motor vehicle sales and rental tax revenue totaled some |
|
|
$6.8 billion, and independent automobile dealers were instrumental |
|
|
in collecting a portion of those revenues; moreover, many of the |
|
|
association's members further contribute to their communities |
|
|
through charitable donations and civic involvement; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For more than eight decades, TIADA has worked |
|
|
tirelessly to support independent automobile dealers, and this |
|
|
occasion provides a fitting opportunity to honor the organization |
|
|
and its members; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature |
|
|
hereby recognize February 11, 2025, as Texas Independent Automobile |
|
|
Dealers Association Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm |
|
|
welcome to the visiting delegation; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for TIADA as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
Senate. |
