SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Odel Crawford, who died January 15,
  2025, at the age of 72; and
         WHEREAS, Odel was born April 23, 1952, in Brownwood, and he
  graduated from Brownwood High School in 1970; he went on to earn a
  bachelor's degree in business administration and management from
  Abilene Christian University; and
         WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, Mr. Crawford
  dedicated more than 25 years of service to the Texas Workforce
  Commission; he held esteemed management and supervisory
  positions that allowed him to make significant contributions to
  the economic development of Odessa and the Permian Basin region;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Crawford was actively involved in numerous
  community organizations, including the Black Chamber of Commerce
  of the Permian Basin, the West Texas Adult Literacy Council,
  Odessa Boys and Girls Club, and the Odessa Chamber of Commerce,
  and his remarkable service and dedication to the community were
  recognized with many prestigious awards; and
         WHEREAS, Odel was noted for his deep commitment to his
  faith and for his love of singing, cooking, traveling, and
  mentoring future generations; he was a source of inspiration to
  those around him through his unwavering strength, his passion for
  helping others, and his remarkable ability to build and connect
  communities, and his memory will long be cherished by all who
  were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Odel Crawford; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Odel Crawford.
