SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 99
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Chapter of the American |
|
|
College of Physicians are gathering in Austin on February 19, |
|
|
2025, for the organization's Advocacy Leadership Day at the State |
|
|
Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to promoting quality health care for |
|
|
all Texans, TXACP works to advance the field of internal medicine |
|
|
through advocacy, education, and initiatives aimed at enhancing |
|
|
patient care and medical standards in Texas; the organization |
|
|
represents more than 8,000 physicians, residents, medical |
|
|
students, and affiliate members and comprises two regions with |
|
|
representative leadership throughout the state; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, TXACP Services supports and improves the practice |
|
|
of internal medicine by addressing the scientific, economic, |
|
|
social, and political aspects of medicine to maintain the highest |
|
|
standards of patient care; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The TXACP Foundation fosters knowledge and |
|
|
philanthropy that enhances health care in Texas by promoting |
|
|
initiatives such as the General Internal Medicine Statewide |
|
|
Preceptorship Program, which encourages students to enter the |
|
|
field of internal medicine and supports residents in educational |
|
|
and scientific endeavors; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Chapter of the American College of |
|
|
Physicians has rendered exceptional service to internal medicine |
|
|
professionals across the state, and the organization's Advocacy |
|
|
Leadership Day provides an important opportunity to connect with |
|
|
fellow medical professionals, to learn about current legislative |
|
|
issues impacting the field, and to engage with lawmakers about |
|
|
key health care policies; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby recognize February 19, 2025, as the Texas |
|
|
Chapter of the American College of Physicians Advocacy |
|
|
Leadership Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to |
|
|
the visiting delegation; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for TXACP as an expression of high regard from the |
|
|
Texas Senate. |
