SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 111
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize February 19, 2025, as Texas A&M University--Corpus
  Christi Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi traces its
  origins to 1947, when the University of Corpus Christi was
  established; in 1989, the institution joined The Texas A&M
  University System and brought about an era of growth and academic
  excellence; and
         WHEREAS, Today, the university serves more than 11,400
  students; it offers a diverse range of bachelor's, master's, and
  doctoral degrees through various colleges and programs,
  including business, education and human development,
  engineering, computer science, liberal arts, nursing, health
  sciences, and communications; and
         WHEREAS, Committed to meeting the evolving needs of Texas'
  workforce and industries, the university continues to expand its
  academic offerings with many new degree programs as well as
  education-related certificate programs; it is also home to
  world-class centers and institutes for autonomous geospatial and
  marine research; and
         WHEREAS, As one of the state's premier institutions of
  higher education, Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi plays a
  vital role in shaping the future of Texas, and it is truly fitting
  that a day be set aside to recognize its commitment to academic
  achievement, research innovation, and community development;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby recognize February 19, 2025, as Texas A&M
  University--Corpus Christi Day at the Capitol and extend a warm
  welcome to the visiting delegation; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this special occasion.
